Organic Karitè

Organic Karitè

Karité is a large tree of the Sapotacee family and it is prevalently abundant in the areas of central-southern Africa. Its botanical name is Butyrospermum parkii. A precious oily paste, called Karitè butter, is extracted from its fruits by employing an ancient and somewhat laborious process. For certain African ethnic groups Karitè butter takes on a role of extreme importance and it is utilised in a thousand different ways, in their diets, as cosmetics and as medicine.
Karitè butter is very rich in vitamins (A, B, E and F), and for this reason it is used in modern cosmetology for its various properties: emollient-moisturizing, soothing-protecting, anti-oxidant and anti-ageing.
Thanks to its extremely high content of unsaponifiables (from 12% to 18%) it gives skin tone and elasticity and it therefore provides the ideal remedy for abdominal and breast stretch marks and strias, unpleasant reminders of pregnancies and sudden weight loss.
It is very useful for women in childbirth for the prevention of breast sores and also for the very delicate skin of newborn babies in that it alleviates the discomfort of nappy rash.
Its emollient characteristics are effective for hard skin on both feet and hands and is also soothing in the treatment of bed sores, besides providing an excellent ally in cold weather.

It is a precious natural cosmetic for face, neck and cleavage and is capable of slowing down the ageing process of the skin and the formation of wrinkles.
